Job Purpose
- Management of pilot communications. Proactive provision of information and responses to pilots to ensure timely and accurate delivery of facts regarding all non-technical issues
- Supervision and management of the Manager Line Operations to achieve the highest possible standards of pilot performance management. Monitoring, tracking and management of pilot absence to safely achieve the highest possible levels of pilot productivity and support. Monitoring of pilot line activity through i-Reports, NOC Logs and Crew Control Logs.
- Management of all non-technical pilot disciplinary issues and pilot grievance issues. Maintaining a close working relationship and good communication with the HR Business Partners and the Medical Department at EAMC. Providing the highest possible level of support to pilots, especially during periods of pilot illness or domestic difficulty.
- Providing the VP Flight Operations or his deputy with details of all technical and/or operational issues identified through the monitoring of pilot line activity. Assisting the VP Flight Operations and pilot managers in technical grievance, disciplinary and other issues as necessary. Assisting the VP Flight Operations and pilot managers in pilot assessment days, by providing the non-technical input necessary to establish pilot upgrade suitability.
- Ensuring that all functions required of the pilot appraisal and performance management system are conducted to the correct standard and in a timely fashion. Ensuring that these systems are updated and used proactively to enhance pilot performance. Providing specialist aviation knowledge to assist the HR Department with its objectives
- Working in conjunction with the Head of Crew Resource to verify pilot resource levels and leave allocation levels.
- Core input to the Fatigue Risk Management System.
The Head of Pilot Performance reports to the Senior Vice President of Operations and is responsible for all non-technical aspects of pilot performance. This role holds overall responsibility for ensuring that non-technical aspects of pilot performance are managed, monitored, and recorded within the Etihad performance management system. The scope of the role includes management of attendance, discipline, grievance matters, pastoral support, career development and, in conjunction with the Crew Resource Department, pilot resource planning.
Management of fleet operations administrative support staff and pilot management administrative support staff

Requirements
Degree from a recognized university or professional qualifications in business and people management. Minimum of 10 years experience in the airline/or a similar industry out of which 5 working years in a Flight Operations/ airline operation, with minimum 3 years in a leading position in airline management.
Training & Knowledge:
Understanding of flight time limitations and FRMS. Good familiarity with employee relations and legislation, performance management and all other Human Resource functions. Understanding of the culture and values of the UAE. Strategic planning and project management skills
